Aster alpinus AGS seed, a lovely simple plant for the rock garden but I do find its not long lived, so you need to collect the seed to keep the plant going. Seed was also listed on our AGSVG seed exchange last year.

Calochortus albus rubellus above and below from Aaron.

Celmisia gracilenta a small, slender Celmisia from New Zealand only reaching 10cm in the garden, and slow growing. Coming from a lowland area about 1,700m, I find it is long lived with me as this plant is 15 years old, so relatively easy to grow and still a small plant.

Dianthus alpinus a lovely easy Dianthus from cuttings and seed always listed on the seed exchanges.

Geranium transversale from Halda seed, growing in a trough.

Globularia repens with butterfly. It will grow in the rock garden as well as this trough, but seems to love to cling to the sides of this trough.

Mertensia primuloides AGS seed 2020, 10cm in height and beautiful blue-green foliage from the Himalaya's growing in the crevice garden in a fairly rich well drained soil.

Moraea lurida 10cms high likes a sunny spot in the rock garden. In the book The Color Encyclopaedia of Cape Bulbs they have a photo of Moraea lurida with very deep maroon flowers, but it does say it can come with paler tips to the petals. Available Lynn's Rare Plants sometimes.

Polygala calcarea "Lillet " Wild Collected seed from the Pyrenees near Lillet, try as I might to grow seed again from my plant, to no avail, I can't get it to germinate, but the ants have carried this seed into the gravel and it is growing. Sometimes you can't help good luck.

Pulsatilla sulfurea much excitement on seeing this in flower in our garden, we tried to find it in flower in Spain with only a few sighting's of leaves. I have tried many times to grow it from seed and I get it to germinate but struggle to find a suitable spot in the garden to grow it like this, its happy where it is now. This plant was from Gentiana Nursery, Craig had 3 plants and he let me have one.

Pots of Rhodohypoxis they do very well for me. They are available from Gentiana Nursery Olinda, Craig has a good selection.

Saponaria ocymoides slow from cuttings but can just turn up its toes when it feels like it, so wise to keep cuttings growing in perlite. Coming from grassy places in southern and Central Europe.

Semiaquilegia ecalcarata gently self sows around when happy. Lovely spurless flowers getting to about 30cm. From the mountains of China at about 3,500 meters.

Veronica austriaca 'ShirleyBlue' with Geranium sanguineum, This Veronica needs a sunny well drained position.

Our next meeting is a zoom meeting on Italian Gardens by Jill Weatherhead starting at 7.30pm on the 27th November. Please contact Fermi if you are wanting to join us and he will send you the link.

Our Bunfight will be held at The Ferny Creek Hort Soc Hall starting at 2.00pm sharp on the 11th December as our usual hall is unavailable due to storm damage meetings. Ferny Creek members have kindly allowed us to meet there. You need to be early to see what plants everyone has bought to exchange. You must be double vaccinated by state government requirement to attend and a financial member of The Alpine Garden Soc Victorian Group.
