The Wattle is out in Sherbrooke Forest.
The Wattle is dotted all through the forest up here at the moment, large trees of yellow very pretty.
A viola hybrid on the forest floor this morning as well, a lovely soft lilac.
Kookaburra with a very long worm, they are so patient waiting for the worm to relax and then pulling back to edge the worm out of the ground. It takes at least 3/4 to 1/2 hour to get them out of the ground, some times the worm breaks, the worms can be up to 60-80cm long
Just wanted to remind you that we have a meeting on the 23rd September with Stephen Ryan speaking on a walk in Italy. It is also our AGM with very important changes to our rules. So if you can not attend the meeting please fill in your proxy forms and send them to one of the committee members so that we can make the changes. If you would like to be on the committee, it will be an opportunity for you to nominate and be elected. Hope to see you there 8pm Olinda Senior Citizens Hall / Olinda Community Hall, Olinda-Monbulk Road, Olinda 3788 Melways reference No 122 A7.
The bench will be full of early Spring plants, and have a cuppa and share some supper.
