Flora of The Silk Road Conference.

Flora of the Silk Road Conference.

The Flora of The Silk Road talk held on Saturday 12th September was a great success. The committee was thrilled with the response by everyone in attending and bringing a wonderful array of plants, fabulous afternoon tea and of course participation in the talk itself.
Chris gave a very interesting talk about the Silk Road and the differences in the flora exploring the reasons for the plant distribution. This discussion was fascinating as always, in understanding the way plants adapt to their specific location and environment.
The photos of the landscape were inspiring leading many to add new counties to the long list already on the 'bucket lists' of the places to visit. Therefore, their book on the Flora of The Silk Road is highly recommended for both the photographs and the text.
The AGSVG thanks Chris and Basak for interrupting their trip in WA to fly across to talk to our group on Saturday.
